
The Glass Menagerie
Our season will begin with The Glass Menagerie, a memory play about the Wingfield family. The events of the play are told through the filter of Tom Wingfield's memory of his life with his mother, Amanda ,and his sister, Laura, in a St. Louis tenement apartment in the 1930's. The play will be performed with the accompaniment of live jazz music. The Glass Menagerie, winner of the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, debuted in Chicago in 1944 and moved to Broadway in 1945. It has been a theatre classic ever since. The Glass Menagerie will be performed on October 30, 31 and November 7 at 7:00 PM with a matinee on Sunday, November 8 at 2:00 PM.
